Birmingham, UK – 17th September 2025: Changan UK, a subsidiary of the global car manufacturer and pioneer in sustainable mobility, and one of China’s largest and most established automotive manufacturers, today officially launches the Changan Deepal S07, its first all-electric SUV for the UK market.
Designed at Changan’s European design centre in Turin, home to over 300 designers, and tuned at Changan’s UK R&D centre in Birmingham, the Deepal S07 combines European styling, advanced EV technology, and British engineering expertise to deliver a stylish, high-quality, zero emissions SUV.
With up to 295 miles (WLTP) range, a 160-kW electric motor, rapid charging capability, and a competitive price point, it sets a new standard for accessible, high-quality electric mobility, striking a perfect balance between design sophistication and practicality.
Available immediately at £39,990, the Deepal S07 launches with 20 Changan dealerships, including a flagship site at Lookers Star City, Birmingham. This will grow to 50 retail sites nationwide by the end of 2025, supported by a UK parts hub and dedicated aftersales network ensuring gold standard customer care.
Changan’s R&D facility in Birmingham, home to 100 engineers, has tested, validated, and tuned the Deepal S07 for UK roads and regulations, ensuring it perfectly marries UK consumer expectations in comfort, performance, and safety.

The SUV’s bold profile is complemented by a panoramic sunroof, hidden door handles, full-width LED light bar and vegan leather interior. Its wraparound yacht-inspired detailing contributes to a modern and youthful atmosphere.
The Changan Deepal S07 places technology at the heart of the driving experience. A 15.6-inch rotating Sunflower touchscreen infotainment system provides intuitive access to controls and media, supported by an augmented reality heads-up display (AR-HUD) that projects key information directly into the driver’s line of sight.
A blend of physical controls, an intelligent multi-zone voice assistant and gesture control make interacting with the car effortless, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensure seamless smartphone integration. Audio is delivered through a premium 14-speaker system, including a driver headrest speaker for a truly immersive experience, and a 360-degree surround view camera with transparent chassis view further enhances both convenience and an uncompromising approach to safety. More than 150 adaptations have been made by the UK team to deliver a highly usable customer experience, while retaining a spirit of fun.

Developed on a next-generation EV architecture dedicated to SUV optimisation, the Changan Deepal S07 is powered by a high-tech electric powertrain that delivers 160 kW (218 PS) and 320 Nm of torque. With a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor driving the rear wheels, the S07 has been developed to be a fun and engaging drive. The 79.97 kWh NMC ternary lithium battery, fitted under the chassis for optimal weight distribution, ensures the S07 provides a real-world driving range of up to 295 miles (475 km WLTP).
Charging flexibility is built in, with DC fast charging allowing the battery to be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in just 48 minutes.
Together, these systems make the S07 more than just a safe vehicle, but an intelligent partner on the road. By combining leading-edge driver assistance with comprehensive occupant protection, the Changan Deepal S07 delivers peace of mind for every journey.
